Our independence
It is our key aim to remain independent – unrestricted and able to hold investment managers to account on performance and fees - which helps our clients achieve the best possible outcomes for their financial needs.
We want to change the way financial advice is provided. We are fiercely independent and offer unrestricted advice. Our first duty is to our client. We don’t manage investments, which means we are in the uncommon position of holding investment managers to account on behalf of our clients. This also enables us to keep our fees low and fair. We are fully transparent on all charges.
We aim to provide cost effective, suitable and diversified investment strategies regardless of the amount of capital a client has to invest. Collectively we influence the investment of well over £400 million worth of clients’ capital and we use our purchasing power to obtain very favourable charges from some of the biggest and best-known investment managers in the UK.
Due diligence: How we fit the bill
We urge professionals to undertake due diligence when using or referring to a financial adviser. In 2022, Centurion became one of the first organisations to open our doors to RQ Ratings, an annual due diligence report for professionals to help them review and refer with confidence to independent financial planners. It contains information on our market-leading client track record, our qualifications, our governance, KPIs, value for money and more.
The latest RQ Ratings report can be accessed here.
We are proud to have been given an overall independent RQ Rating of 4.9 out of 5 – the highest rating given to any independent financial planning firm to date. RQ Ratings states that this score ensures professionals ‘can very confidently refer’ clients to Centurion.

Collaboration
We are proud to be the ‘go-to’ independent financial advisory firm for national and local law firms across England and Wales. We’re also very experienced in operating formal Joint Venture Structures which enable accountants and lawyers to offer their own brand as an additional service to their clients. This is thanks to our collaborative approach, our trusted adviser status, our transparency, our independent status, our expertise and sustainable business practices.
We currently operate six formal joint ventures with law firms, and we also receive informal referrals from a number of others and from various accountancy practices. Around 85% of our new client matters are introduced to us through these sources.
We are proud of our clear succession plans within the business and the collaborative, supportive and diverse culture we have created that enables us to attract, retain and grow the largest number of highly qualified and accredited independent financial advisers in the UK. We regularly share our market insight amongst our network of law firms, gathered by our joint ventures (including client care and marketing) to further support our colleagues and clients.
Any professional working with us can be sure that our advice is delivered with the clients’ best interest in mind - at all times – and that we aim to support your professionals and teams as they grow. Contact us today to see how we can support your firm.
